The Troutpond.com Forums are now up and running. Before your
first visit please read through the following.
Step 1 - Visit
When you click the forum link, you will see an initial forum
page with only the most limited capabilities. Available to anyone
who has not yet registered with the forum ("Guests"),
these users can only view posts, and
only in the Public (Non-Member) forum. They cannot create topics
or reply to existing topics.
You
CANNOT log into the forum unless cookies are enabled
in your browser.
Step 2 - Register
It is very easy to advance to the next category, "Registered"
users. Click Register on the right side
toward the top and you will be taken to a form requesting basic
information. Here you will define the user name and password of
your choice. The system will send a confirmation email to the
address you specify. You must click the link contained in this
email to finalize your registration.
Registered users may create topics and reply to posts in the
Non-Members forum. Here, prospective members can ask questions
and receive answers from current members. It is also possible
to download club information from this forum.
Note to
Life Members: register for the forum and you will be promoted
to Member status within 24 hours. |
Step 3 - Join or Renew
Current members can take this opportunity to renew their membership
for 2006. Across the top of the screen locate and click the My
Account button.
Under the club logo there is a navigation aid. It now says "Troutpond.com
Forums > My Account > Watched Topics". Watch
this change as you click different places. You can click any
of these items to return directly there instead of using the
'Back' button on your browser.
Here's where it gets really cool. Click the Subscriptions
tab all the way to the right of the My Account
section. Anyone can join the club or renew their membership from
this screen. Select the appropriate Subscription and click Order.
You will be taken to a PayPal screen. If you don't have a PayPal
account, you can either set one up or "click here if
you don't have a PayPal account", which brings you to
a screen where you can pay by credit card.
DISCLOSURE:
Until the club sets up its own PayPal merchant account,
we will use the Computer Doctor account. Don't be alarmed,
Joey will break my knees if he doesn't get every dime. |
Having paid your dues, you are automatically enrolled as either
a Junior or Adult member, and given access to the Member
forums. Junior members will not have access to the
"Adults Only" forum, which is for those members whose
sense of humor tends toward the risquée. Club officers
will have access to an additional forum for their private use.
The last forum is for club Associates, a category to be used in
the future by vendors, friends and neighbors with whom the club
has a relationship that is separate from, or in addition to, club
membership. See table below for details.
